Whitebeard was yet another legend of the old era who reigned supreme as the king of the seas until recently in One Piece. All these characters are monstrous in terms of power and they have demonstrated their strength time and again. However, one new One Piece character has just broken the series’ power scaling permanently, and this individual is none other than Loki, the Accursed Prince of Elbaf.
Roger, Whitebeard, Rocks, And Garp Were The Strongest Of The Old Era
Before the Elbaf arc of One Piece, the old generation of pirates was essentially untouched in terms of power. Roger was still the strongest pirate in recent history, with Whitebeard being his only equal, and of course, Rocks being around the same level as prime Roger and Whitebeard, despite being a big mystery to the fans. From the Navy side, there was Garp, whom fans know rivaled Roger in terms of power.
These monsters were then joined by the likes of Scopper Gaban and Silvers Rayleigh, among a few other pirates. Together, they were seen as the top tiers of the One Piece world. Of course, it goes without saying that they are still legendary in terms of power and Elbaf hasn’t particularly changed how fans look at them. However, it has introduced a monster so strong that he can possibly be considered to be even stronger than them in some ways. This monster is none other than Loki, the Accursed Prince of Elbaf.
Loki Has Surpassed All The Old Monsters Of The One Piece World
- Loki Has Ragnir At His Side
- He Ate the Legendary Devil Fruit Of Elbaf 14 Years Ago
It would be preposterous for anyone to assume that Loki would be stronger than the legendary figures of the One Piece world before Elbaf. However, now, it is very difficult not to accept this as a fact. In One Piece chapter 1170, fans got to see Loki fight against King Harald. In this incredibly exciting battle, Loki was the one who came out as the victor as he dealt the final blow to the King of Elbaf. For context, fans need to know how strong Harald truly was at this point. When Harald was introduced, fans knew that he was a monster in his own right. However, his real strength was later revealed to be equal to that of Rocks D. Xebec.
This strength, it’s rippling through him. It’s almost frightening. And now, he’s immortal. It chills the spine. He’s more than a monster. At this point, he’s a weapon. — The Five Elders on King Harald, One Piece Chapter 1168
Anyone closer to Rocks in terms of power is also around the level of the highest legends of the One Piece world. But, it doesn’t stop there as Harald then went on to gain even greater powers. Harald received Imu’s Deep Sea Covenant, which grants one superhuman strength as well as immortality.
After acquiring the power of Ragnir and the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf, Loki became strong enough to overwhelm even Harald in battle. In other words, Loki should be around the same level as the Pirate King and the likes of Whitebeard, or potentially even stronger than them, absurd as that may sound to some.
With Ragnir And A Legendary Devil Fruit, Loki Is Too Overpowered
Loki’s full power remains unknown at this point in the story. This is because his battle with Harald was very brief and it wasn’t quite clear as to what his full power looked like. However, his full strength can easily be assessed by looking at the abilities that he holds. On his own, Loki is a top-tier tier, and that goes without saying. He had powerful Conqueror’s Haki that he could infuse into his hammer, but on his own, he was still weaker than the likes of Shanks and Scopper Gaban at this point.
Then, Loki received a very big buff in the form of Ragnir. Ragnir itself was able to hold its ground in battle against Loki, and that means that by this point, it should be able to hold its own as a top-tier, such as against the Admirals or even the Yonko of the One Piece world. Then, Loki ate the legendary Devil Fruit, which boosted his powers tremendously and made him the monster that he is today.
Loki was able to overwhelm King Harald in a few blows and that truly makes him a terrifying monster. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Loki reached the same level as the likes of prime Roger, Garp, and Whitebeard or potentially even went on to surpass them.
Only Shanks Surpasses Loki In Power In One Piece
While Loki is quite easily a monster that could potentially be stronger than the likes of Roger, Whitebeard, or even Harald, the fact is that there is still one pirate above him in terms of overall power, and that is none other than Shanks. No one was able to stop Loki after the death of Harald, but one character eventually put the chains on him after defeating him, and that was none other than red-haired Shanks.
