One Piece was the series to conclude Jump Festa 2026, but sadly, the stage for the series was rather underwhelming. The only thing fans got to see was the trailer for the One Piece Live Action. Meanwhile, new information regarding the Wit remake, for example, wasn’t major. At the very least, One Piece fans got a message from Eiichiro Oda, and he had a few interesting things to say. Oda re-confirms that a new One Piece movie is coming, and while he canāt reveal a whole lot about it, he has definitely hyped it up and got fans wondering about what this next adventure could be.

One Pieceās stage for Jump Festa 2026 took place today, on December 21, 2025. Fans were excited to see what the series had in store for them in 2026, but surprisingly, the event turned out to be very disappointing for them.
The most exciting reveal for many fans was the confirmation of the next One Piece movie. Fans now know for sure that a movie is in the works. Oda, sadly, isnāt allowed to reveal much about this upcoming project, so this is about the extent of what fans know at the moment. Hopefully, in the upcoming year, more information will be revealed.

When I asked my editor to summarize what we’re doing next year for this comment, there was a huge line-up of events! (But they said,) āYou canāt talk about this, or this, or this, or this yet.ā Waitādoes that mean I canāt say almost anything!?
Looking at the list, many of the projects are clearly aimed at an international audience (including Japan, of course). The previously announced new anime, The One Piece, is also being made for a global audience and is progressing steadily.
And on March 10th next year, season 2 of the Hollywood live-action One Piece will finally be released!! Chopper will make his debut! Every time new footage comes in, I canāt help but say, āSo cuuuute, so cuuuute.ā Come March next year, youāll all be saying the same thing too!!
Be sure to fully enjoy the Straw Hat crew vibes from the rest of the wonderfully eccentric cast, including IƱaki and the others. In fact, filming for season 3 has already begun, which means the Arabasta arc will be completed with it. Look forward to it!!
As for the anime movie, Iāve been told Iām not allowed to talk about it yet! And honestly, I canāt say itās progressing smoothly either. But maybe saying this will get things movingālike, āHey, hurry it up!!ā (Laughs)

After a long, long flashbackāmore like a deep dive into historyāwe return to the present day, and just when your perspective on Elbaf has started to shiftā¦ boom!! It ends with a big, flashy finish. And from here on out, things get really intense.
To that island that only the Pirate King ever reached!? The man marked by flames appears!! Two people who never crossed paths finally meet!! And those two run into each other as well!! Is next year going to be a full-blown festival of encounters?
The story moves at lightning speed, but Iāve unfortunately gotten older, so while taking care of my health, Iāll continue next year to sail through One Piece at its fastest pace yetāsteady and full force. Ahead lies a festival!!

What Could One Pieceās Upcoming Anime Movie Be About?
Many One Piece fans are wondering what this exciting movie that Oda is hyping up could be about. At the moment, nobody knows, and Oda didnāt divulge any information on the matter in his message either. He simply stated that it would intrigue many fans of the series.
Fans, however, do have some theories about what this movie could cover. One popular idea is that this upcoming movie could cover the previously discarded story idea about the previous Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika user before Luffy. Itās hard to imagine what other exciting topic could top such an idea, and fans would love to see it come to life after a long wait.
When Will The Next One Piece Movie Be Released?
At Jump Festa 2026, fans were expecting more than just a message about the upcoming One Piece movie. Most One Piece fans thought they’d get some art or a movie key visual, at the very least. But, from Odaās message, itās apparent that production is nowhere near close to that point right now. Oda says progress isnāt looking too great right now, and that fans will need to be very patient.
Judging by how heās talking, it definitely seems that the wait will be long, potentially, at least over a year or so. In other words, fans might have to wait until 2027 for the next One Piece movie.
This is definitely disappointing for many fans. After all, the last One Piece movie, One Piece Film Red, was released in 2022, and itās already been over 3 years since, with the wait only increasing.
