King Harald’s reign of terror in Elbaph proved to be short-lived, but it took a monumental showing to put the Imu-controlled Knight of God down for good. After Loki’s defeat of Harald, there’s a new OP One Piece character for fans to add to their power-scaling lists.
Loki’s Attack on King Harald Brought Pushed One Piece’s Power-Scaling to the Max
One Piece Chapter 1170 began with King Harald locked in combat with Scopper Gaban and Shanks, both of whom wield immense Conqueror’s Haki. Despite their strength, the two are unable to gain the upper hand against Harald, who uses his own Haki to combat his former allies.
Looking at Harald’s profile, it’s easy to see why he’s such a difficult opponent to defeat. He’s an Ancient Giant armed with major Conqueror’s Haki, a Depths Covenant, and experience in battle against heavyweights like Rocks D. Xebec, making him nearly every bit as strong as Rocks D. Xebec’s Domi Reversi form, which took the combined efforts of Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp to defeat.
Armed with Ragnir and Elbaph’s Devil Fruit, Loki immediately takes control of the fight with the same version of King Harald that stood on his own against Gaban and Shanks, and within moments, he’s got his father backed into a corner. At this point, Harald uses a moment of lucidity to ask his son to save Elbaph by killing him, prompting Loki to unleash the strongest single attack seen in One Piece so far.
In Loki’s killing blow, he utilizes the power of the Ancient Giants, Conqueror’s Haki, and Ragnir’s lightning to hit Harald with an absolutely massive attack that vaporizes the King of Elbaph’s body — and this is after he uses Elbaph’s forbidden Devil Fruit. Considering everything One Piece fans have learned about Harald, this attack is arguably the single most lethal strike performed by a single person in the story so far, and it instantly qualifies Loki as a top-tier powerhouse.
Loki’s dramatic display at the end of One Piece Chapter 1170 is only the latest in a long line of high-power attacks seen in the Elbaph Arc. The Land of Giants has raised the stakes to monumental proportions, reinforcing the idea that the journey of Monkey D. Luffy is truly in the midst of its final saga.
The Elbaph Arc Has Turned the Dial Up on One Piece’s Power-Scaling

King Harald, Loki, Luffy, Zoro, Garp, Shanks, Rocks D. Xebec, Gol D. Roger, and even Imu have all traded blows with other characters since the start of the Elbaph Arc, resulting in some of the most high-powered clashes seen in One Piece so far. Characters like Scopper Gaban are openly discussing how Conqueror’s Haki is needed to defeat the Knights of God and Imu’s other subordinates, so it’s clear that Eiichiro Oda is ready to take the franchise’s power-scaling to the next level moving forward.
With Elbaph currently under siege by the Knights of God and an army of Domi Reversi-affected Giants, One Piece‘s protagonists will need to step up in a massive way as soon as Loki’s story comes to an end. Their opponents are literally invulnerable to attacks not coated in Conqueror’s Haki; therefore, if the Straw Hat Pirates are to survive, they’ll likely need someone other than Luffy and Zoro to wield Conqueror’s Haki at their side.
Loki is still a long shot to join the Straw Hats, but for now, he’s going to be a crucial ally in the fight to repel Imu. It’s an exciting time to be a One Piece fan, and within the next few weeks, a Grand Line-changing battle is set to unfold in the Land of Giants.
