Alice Weidel, leader of the AfD faction, has launched a blistering attack on mainstream media during a press conference alongside Tino Chrupalla. As Germany faces an economic crisis with soaring insolvencies, Weidel condemned the government’s policies and the media’s complicity, calling for urgent reforms to avert disaster.
In a stark warning, Weidel highlighted that Germany is on the brink of an insolvency tsunami, predicting up to 30,000 business failures in 2026 alone. The figures are alarming, with corporate bankruptcies rising by 35% in 2024 and a staggering threefold increase since 2021.
The AfD leaders attributed this economic collapse to excessive bureaucracy and soaring costs, including energy prices and CO2 taxes. Weidel criticized the government’s failure to address these issues, declaring that the current policies are dismantling the German economy and 𝓉𝒽𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓉𝑒𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔 countless jobs and livelihoods.
Weidel did not hold back, denouncing the mainstream media for celebrating tax revenue from CO2 emissions while ignoring the detrimental impact on businesses. “22 billion euros are being siphoned from companies, crippling their ability to invest and sustain jobs,” she stated, emphasizing the dire consequences of government inaction.
She called for immediate reforms, including a halt to the failed energy transition policy, a return to nuclear energy, and the elimination of burdensome taxes and regulations. “Germany needs a rescue plan now or it will be too late,” Weidel warned, urging swift action to restore economic stability.

The press conference also addressed recent terrorist attacks on Berlin’s infrastructure, revealing the government’s failure to protect citizens. Weidel criticized the lack of accountability from political leaders, stressing that the security of German citizens must be prioritized over political gamesmanship.
In a passionate plea, Weidel demanded that the government take decisive action against left-wing extremism, labeling it a threat to democracy. She called for transparency regarding funding for extremist groups and emphasized the urgency of restoring law and order in the nation.
As the economic crisis deepens and societal tensions rise, Weidel’s stark message resonates: Germany stands at a crossroads, and immediate, decisive action is imperative to avert a complete breakdown of its economic and social fabric. The time for complacency is over; the clock is ticking.
